The War Memorial c1920
This photograph (taken from an original postcard) shows the original junction between Ermine Street (A1198) and Cambridge Road (A603) looking north-east towards Cambridge. A new-looking Wimpole and Arrington War Memorial is on the left and Wimpole Lodge (now 141 Cambridge Road) is on the right.
Because of the bare trees and the commemorative wreaths, the month is likely to be November/December and the condition of the War Memorial indicates a year in the early 1920's.
The photographer is believed to be Robert H Clark of Royston.
