Susan, Countess of Hardwicke Almhouses
A row of six alms-houses was built in 1846 by Susan, Countess of Hardwicke.
The almshouses were for "poor people of good charactor who have resided in Wimpole or Arrington or the surrounding areas. Preference shall be given to widows"
The original six Almshouses have been converted to four units to meet modern standards of accommodation.
The almshouses are a registered Charity (registration 20287).

The Village Hall has recently undergone extensive refurbishment of its principal hall, kitchen and toilets. The Hall also houses the Arrington Snooker Club in its own rooms at the end of the Hall.
The premises provides accommodation for various clubs, keep fit classes and indoor sports and is available for hire at very competitive rates. The Village Hall is also the principal venue for Parish Council meetings.

Arrington Village Garden was opened in the Spring of 1993 to provide an area of quiet recreation.

The village sign, which is situated in the Village Garden, shows St Nicholas Church, part of the Arrington Gates to Wimpole Park and a Roman (Arrington straddles Ermine Street - a major Roman road).

The Hardwicke Arms Hotel is the 'village pub' with real ale, a restaurant and hotel accommodation. It is central to many aspects of Arrington life.
The Hardwicke Arms was an important coaching inn on the stagecoach route from London to York.

St Nicholas Parish Church is a church within the Orwell Group of Parishes which covers Arrington, Orwell, Barrington, Croydon and Wimpole. Each parish church in the group has their own churchwardens and parochial council.
St Nicholas is a living church and holds services on the 2nd 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month.

ARRINGTON CARPET BOWLS CLUB
The Carpet Bowls Club meets most Friday evenings in Arrington Village Hall from 7.30 to 9.30pm. This friendly club has a thriving membership and from September to March plays matches in the South Cambridgeshire Carpet Bowls league. It also enters teams in several tournaments and plays occasional friendly matches throughout the year.

For the attention of Horse Owners. Cambridgeshire Police are seeing an increase in the number of Tack and Horsebox thefts within Cambridgeshire.
